MY MAKEUP BASE ESSENTIALS

What do I use on my makeup base to get it in its best? I have a really oily skin, so keeping my skin matte for longer than 10 minutes is a accomplishment. Now when some of you are thinking “Nah, she is just exaggerating”, I’m not even a one bit :D The sad truth. If I don’t use primer or if I do and I put on some basic foundation and powder, my face will start to shine after 10 minutes. I also have to put more powder every 10-20 minutes. So no thanks to that :p Last couple of years I have searches for the perfect makeup base products to get my skin more matte for longer time. Until the last couple of months I had not found anything that would help, but now I have found two combos that works well and also couple of products that makes any makeup better (in the sense of keeping my face matte).

These three products above are the things that makes any makeup last longer and more matte on me. Lumene’s bright now vitamin c shine control cream-gel. I use this before putting my makeup on and it makes my face staying more matte for longer time. This works with any foundation I have tested it with, but the best result becomes with mattifying foundations. This itself doesn’t keep my face matte for long time (maybe 1-2hour), but when I combined this with other great products it helps a lot to get the best result.

Lumene’s mattifying & pore minimizing primer to oily to combined skin. Using this primer has also helped a little bit for the shine. This also minimizes my pores too, plus for that too. This still doesn’t do anything big so I’m buying a better one, but this is good cheaper mattifying primer. At the moment I’m trying to buy Makeup For ever’s step 1 mattifying primer to get more long lasting makeup base, but buying makeup for ever, when your not from Helsinki isn’t that easy :p

Laura Mercier’s loose setting powder in translucent. This is the most important thing in my makeup base. Baking with this powder, makes every makeup base staying matte for 2-6 hour. This combined with a good mattifying foundation makes the biggest difference. This is the thing that has made my oily skin behave. For those oily girls over there I have one thing to say! If you have money to invest on one product, buy this! This totally makes bigger difference than any foundation I have tried. In Europe this cost 29£, so it’s about 44 euros with shipping. In US’s Sephoras this costs around 38$. Worth of any penny.

Mitä tuotteita käytän saadakseni aikaan parhaimman meikkipohjan? Mulla on todella rasvainen iho, joten ihoni pitäminen mattana 10 minuuttia kauemmin on jo saavutus. Nyt kun jotkut teistä ajattelevat ”Nah, se vaan liioittelee”, surullista kyllä en liioittele milliäkään. Jos en käytä primeria tai jos käytän jotain perus meikkivoidetta ja puuteria, alkaa mun kasvot kiiltää kymmenen minuutin päästä. Puuteria täytyy tällöin myös lisätä 10-20 minuutin välein. Joten ei kiitos :p Viimeisen parin vuoden aikana tavoitteenani on ollut löytää tuotteita, jotka pitäisivät ihoni mattana pidempään. Viime kuukausiin asti sellaisia ei vielä ollut löytynyt, mutta nyt olen lähikuukausina löytänyt kaksi mahtavaa comboa meikkipohjani mattana pitämiseen. Olen myös löytänyt muutaman tuotteen, jotka tekevät mistä tahansa meikkipohjasta paremman (mattana pitämisen suhteen).

Yllä olevassa kuvassa näkyvät nämä kolme tuotetta, jotka tekevät mistä tahansa meikkipohjasta pikkaisen matamman ja pitkäkestoisemman. Lumenen bright now vitamin c kiiltoa kontrolloiva voidegeeli. Käytän tätä aina ennen meikkiä ja se pitää kasvoni mattana vähän normaalia pidempään. Toimii jokaisen meikkivoiteen kanssa, mutta paras lopputulos syntyy mattameikkivoiteiden kanssa. Tämä yksinään ei pidennä meikkipohjani mattana pysymistä huimasti (ehkä 1-2 tuntia), mutta yhdistettynä muihin erinomaisiin tuotteisiin on ero huima.

Lumenen mattifying & pore minimizing primer eli kiillottomuutta estävä & ihohuokoisia pienentävä pohjustustuote rasvaiselle- ja sekaiholle. Tämän primerin käyttäminen on myös hieman auttanut kiilto ongelmaani sekä samalla tekee ihohuokoisista pienemmän näköisiä. Tämä primeri ei kuitenkaan tee meikkipohjalleni mitään ihmeitä, joten olenkin ostamassa kokeiluun myös toista primeria, mutta hyvä edullisempi primeri tämä kyllä on. Ostoon on seuraavaksi menossa Makeup for everin step 1 mattifying primer, mutta sen ostaminen ei-helsinkiläisenä ei olekaan niin helppoa :p

Laura Mercierin väritön meikinkiinnitys irtopuuteri. Tämä on meikkipohjani mattana pitämisen uusi salaisuus. Tällä puuterilla leipominen tekee meikkipohjastani matan 2-6 tunniksi riippuen meikkivoiteesta ja primereista. Saavutus! Tämä yhdistettynä hyvään mattameikkivoiteeseen tekee isoimman eron näistä kaikista tuotteista. Tällä saa munkin rasvaisen ihon tottelemaan :p Kaikille rasvaisen ihon omistaville siellä ruudun toisella puolella sanon siis tämän! Jos teillä on rahaa sijoittaa yhteen tuotteeseen, ostakaa tämä! Tämä tekee isomman eron meikkipohjassa, kuin mikään kokeilemani meikkivoide. Euroopassa tämä maksaa 29£ eli noin 44 euroa toimituskuluineen. Omani ostin space.nk sta ja tämä on taatusti hintansa väärti.

My favorite cheaper foundation is Loreal’s Infallible 24H-matte foundation in the shade 11 Vanilla. This combined with the three products mentioned before changed my makeup base to better. This is so good foundation for oily skin and it is medium coverage, buildable to full-coverage. Handles sweat and oils. Good, good and good :)

Tämä meikkivoide on mun lemppari halvemmista meikkivoiteista. Kyseesähän on Lorealin Infallible 24H-matte meikkivoide sävyssä 11 Vanilla. Tämä yhdistettynä aiemmin mainitsemiini kolmeen tuotteeseen muuttivat mun meikkipohjan täysin. Erittäin hyvä meikkivoide rasvaiselle iholle, joka on peittävyydeltään medium ja jota pystyy kerrostamaan aina sinne full coverageen asti eli täysin peittävään asti. Kestää rasvat ja hien. Hyvä, hyvä ja hyvä :)

Estee Lauder’s Double wear stay in place foundation in the shade 1N1 Ivory Nude (the lightest shade of course :D). This is so far the best full coverage foundation for oily skin that I have found. This with Laura Mercier’s loose setting primer is the best long lasting combination I have found. My trusties for events and sweaty parties. I found that this applies the best with fingers.

Estee Lauderin Double Wear stay in place meikkivoide värissä 1N1 Ivory Nude (vaalein sävy tietenkin :D). Tämä on tähän asti paras täyden peittävyden omaava meikkivoide rasvaiselle iholle, jonka olen löytänyt. Tämä yhdistettynä Laura Mercierin värittömään meikinkiinnitys irtopuuteriin on paras pitkäkestoinen yhdistelmä, jonka olen löytänyt. Tästä löytyykin luotto meikkipohja tapahtumiin ja hikisiin tanssibileisiin. Parhaiten tämän saa kauniisti kasvoille sormilla.

Hello! I thought it would be fun to show some of my latest makeup shopping for the past months. I have tried to upgrade my makeup collection, because example a year ago I didn’t own much makeup and I didn’t even wore lipsticks. And of course, because I just have started to love makeup more and more. Like I have said before, I have started to buy good reviewed products and care less of the price tag. Of course I think and watch more reviews, because I want to know that my money will be well spend, because they will cost more. But I still want to rather spend more money and get excellent products than buy couple of cheaper makeup products and get average. So this is what I have bought! :)

Moikka! Ajattelin, että olisi kivaa kirjoittaa teille mun viime kuukausien meikkiostoksista. Olen yrittänyt päivittää ja parantaa mun meikkivarastoja, koska esimerkiksi vielä vuosi sitten en käyttänyt meikkiä niin intensiivisesti ja en myöskään käyttänyt huulipunia. Ja tietenkin, koska olen alkanut vaan rakastamaan enemmän ja enemmän meikkaamista ja meikkejä. Ja kuten olen aikaisemminkin maininnut, olen alkanut panostamaan kalliimpiin erinomaisia arviointeja saaneisiin tuotteisiin. Näiden kohdalla tietenkin mietin asiaa ja tutkin tuotteita paljon enemmän, koska haluan tietää että käytän paljon rahaa ja se saa itselleen vastiketta. Mieluummin panostan yhteen erinomaiseen tuotteeseen, kuin muutamaan halvempaan keskitasoiseen tuotteeseen. Joten mennäämpäs sitten itse tuotteisiin! :)

Rimmel’s Stay Matte Primer. I bought this, because I have heard so much good about it. This was on sale for 6 euros. We will see if it works :)

Rimmelin Stay Matte pohjustustuote (primer). Ostin tämän, koska olen kuullut tästä niin paljon hyvää ja se oli Anttilassa alennuksessa kuudella eurolla. Tuotteen toimivuus jää nähtäväksi :)

I’m still trying to figure out the best way to apply this, so if you have some suggestions let me know! Full coverage foundation for oily skin. Keeps my skin matte longer. Good buy :)

Maxfactor’s Pan stick foundation in the shade 12 true beige. Really raved product using as a concealer for spots. This was on sale at Sokos for six euros, so of course I had to buy it :p

Maxfactorin Pan stick meikkivoide värissä 12 True Beige. Suosittu tuote peittämään finnejä. Löysin tämän Sokokselta kuudella eurolla, joten olihan se ostettava :p

Maybelline’s gel liner in the shade 01 black. Jacklyn Hill always raves about this, so I had to buy it :) The BEST liner ever! It won’t smudge, gets through sweat and rain and applies like a dream. I bought this when I was on a student cruise (ship) and it costed 8.90 euros. Bargain!

Maybellinen geeli rajausväri värissä 01 black (musta). Jacklyn Hill puhuu tästä jatkuvasti, joten olihan se ostettava :) PARAS rajausväri ikinä! Ei leviä, tahraannu, kestää läpi hien ja sateen sekä levittyy kuin unelma. Ostin tämän opiskelija risteilyltä hintaan 8.90 euroa. Löytö!

Loreal’s Brow artist plumper (transparent). Also a raved product in Youtube, so I wanted to give this a go, because my Lumene’s eyebrow wax wasn’t enough for my crazy eyebrows :p This is so much better!

Lorealin Brow artist plumper väritön (kulmavaha). Myös todella suosittu tuote Youtubessa, joten olihan sitä testattava, koska Lumenen kulmavaha ei vaan ole tarpeeksi pitävä mun villeille kulmakarvoille :p Tämä on niin paljon parempi!

We Care Icon’s Magnetic lips perfect volume lip gloss in the shade 4 perfect fuchsia. I remembered of reading something about this in some blog and when I saw this on sale in Sokos, I bought it. I paid 3.50 euros for this. Perfect color, but I still like Rimmel’s Oh my glosses texture more. But I’m definitely going to use this. Such a pretty color and I used it in this pink smoky eye makeup look.

We Care Iconin Magnetic lips perfect volume huulikiilto värissä 4 Perfect Fushsia. Muistan lukeneeni tästä jostakin blogista ja kun näin tämän Sokoksella tarjouksessa, olihan se ostettava. Hintaa löytyi 3.50 euroa. Täydellinen raikas sävy, mutta tykkään kyllä siltikin Rimmelin Oh my glossien rakenteesta enemmän. Käytän tämän kyllä silti loppuun, koska tuo sävy nyt on vaan niin kaunis ja rakenne on kuitenkin ihan hyvä. Käytin tätä huulikiiltoa tässä pinkissä smoky eye meikkilookissa.

So here are the things I got for my birthday and also the things I bought to myself (+ GlamGlow that I forget to shoot :D). The most important thing that I wanted for my birthday was Clarisonic Mia 2. I have read so much good about this, but the price was a little slow down at getting it. But we have this habit that me and my boyfriend buy little bit expensive birthday gifts to each other and they cost as much. And of course it is something that the other one wants. I like this arrangement a lot :) So I hoped to get Clarisonic Mia 2. It was on sale at the right moment so I got an extra brush and cleansers too! Good luck I would say. So to those who don’t know what is Clarisonic: it is a skincare equipment that you can use twice a day. It cleaning rest in pulsing. That is the main difference from other skincare brushes, which rest in spinning. So I have now used this for little bit over month and I will tell you my reviews about this when I think I have use it enough :)

Joten tässä ovat mun synttärilahjat ja myös mun itselle ostamani lahjat (+ GlamGlow, joka puuttuu kuvista, koska unohdin sen kuvata :D). The thing that I wanted the most fo my birthday was Clarisonic Mia 2. Olin lukenut siitä niin paljon hyvää, mutta hinta kirpaisi ja esti ostamista. Meillä on poikaystäväni kanssa sellainen tapa, että ostetaan toisillemme kalliimmat synttärilahjat, jotka ovat aina saman hintaiset. Lahja on tietenkin sellainen, jota toinen on toivonut. Mielestäni tämä on ollut mahtava idea! Joten toivoin siis Clarisonic Mia 2:sta. Mulla kävi myös hyvä säkä, koska laite oli alennuksessa juuri ennen synttäreitäni ja pakettiin tuli mukaan sen vuoksi myös extra harja ja kaksi clarisonic:in ihonpuhdistusainetta! Hyvää tuuria. Niille, joille Clarisonic ei vielä ole tuttu: Clarisonic on ihonpuhdistuslaite, joka puhdistaa ihoa 6 kertaa paremmin, kuin käsin tehty puhdistus. Alkuperäisen keksinnön eli Clarisonicin harjan teho perustuu pulsseihin, kun taas useiden muiden merkkien puhdistuu tapahtuu pyörimisellä. Joten mulla on ollut tämä nyt reilun kuukauden ja kirjotan tästä heti, kun koen, että olen päässyt hyvin kiinni tämän sielunelämään.

Urban Decay! Oh I have fall in love with this brand! I have thought of buying naked palette for a long time and when Sokos took the brand in their collection I had to bought it to myself as a birthday gift. I also got it 20% cheaper, because they had this campaign that included all the make up for 20% cheaper. Then I got really crazy and bough all the three product in the picture. Oops. I think I deserved them, so I bought them all :D And let me just say, Urban Decay’s Naked palettes are worth of every good reviews they have ever gotten. So pigmented and beautiful colors! Would want them all <3 I think I will buy Naked Smoky next, because it has the most suitable colors for me. Glitter and matte colors in one palette! I also bought Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion Original and it is amazing too! All nighter makeup setting spray is still in testing space, but I think I will fall in love with it too :)

Urban Decay! Olen niin rakastunut tähän merkkiin siitä lähtien kun nämä sain käsiini! Olen pitkän aikaa haaveillut Naked palettien ostosta ja kun ne rantautuivat Suomeen asti Sokokselle en keksinyt enään tekosyitä olla ostamatta näitä itselleni synttärilahjaksi. Ostoa vauhditti myös 20% tarjous, jonka sai kyseeseen aikaan kaikista meikkituotteista. Menin aivan hulluksi ja päätin ostaa samalla kaikki kuvissa näkyvät kolme tuotetta kerralla. Oops. Olen silti sitä mieltä, että ansaitsin nämä kaikki, koska olen jo pitkään venyttänyt penniä ja ollut niin tarkka rahoistani. Nyt kun rahaa oli käytettäväksi johonkin niin kyllä tämä oli niille tällä kertaa parasta käyttöä :) Ja muuten voin vaan kertoa, että Urban Decayn Naked paletit ovat todellakin ansainneet jokaisen hyvän arvostelun mitä ne ovat ikinä saaneet, koska nämä ovat aivan uskomattomia! Niin pigmenttiset värit ja uskomattoman kauniit värit! Haluaisin Naked paleteista jokaisen <3 Jossain hamassa tulevaisuudessa aijon seuraavaksi ostaa Naked Smokyn. Siinä on aivan täydelliset värit mulle! Glitteriä ja mattaa samassa paletissa! Ostin myös Urban Decayn Eyeshadow Primer Potion Original:in ja se on myös aivan uskomattoman hyvää! All nighter meikinkiinnitys suihke on vielä testaus vaiheessa, mutta uskon, että rakastun myös siihen :)

Converses were gift from my sister. So in love with these! Se had done some detective work with my boyfriend and I hadn’t noticed anything :D Clever. I can just say nice job, because I always spoil every surprise by being the doubtful me that I always am and I figure out all the surprises before they even happen. Now I didn’t. My sister is getting really good at this. Last year she also get the information of what I want out of me, without me knowing she was asking questions about my birthday present. I’m going to ready next year! :p So these sneakers have been in a lot of use lately and I just love them. So thank you!

So there was my birthday gifts. I think these are going to show in here a lot after this, so be prepared! :)

Kuvan Converset olivat lahja siskoltani. Olen niin rakastunut näihin! Olen näidenkin ostoa pähkäillyt jo vaikka kuinka kauan, mutta en vain ole saanut kiskottua rahaa niihin :p Siskoni oli tehnyt poikaystäväni kanssa salapoliisityötä värin ja koon selvittämisessä. Itse en asiaa huomannut, joten tämä ansaitsee aploodit. Yleensä pilaan kaikki yllätykset etukäteen olemalla epäileväinen itseni ja huomaamalla epäilyttävää toimintaa ja kilometrien päästä. Nyt en huomannut. Siskoni alkaa olemaan jo liian hyvä tässä, koska viime vuonna mut saatiin myös yllätettyä samalta taholta aivan totaalisesti. Musta oltiin nyhdetty tietoa synttärilahjaa varten ja mä en epäillyt mitään. Ensi vuonna oon valmis! :p Kengät ovat olleet kulutuksessa lähes joka päivä, joten osui kyllä nappiin. Kiitos sisko!
